A project born from the land
We are a community cooperative founded in Pentone, in the province of Catanzaro, in the heart of the Presila Catanzarese. Our name—Le Cinque Icone—is a tribute to the five founding values that guide everything we do
Our mission
Le Cinque Icone was founded with a clear purpose: to create jobs, well-being and value in an area rich in natural and cultural resources that are often overlooked. We believe the Calabrian mountains have a great deal to offer — all it takes is the energy and the will to make the most of them.
As a community cooperative, we are rooted in the land and committed to the common good. Our members are not just workers: they are guardians of a shared heritage, responsible to future generations.

From an idea to a community project
The idea takes shape
A group of people with strong ties to the Presila Catanzarese come together around a shared vision: to bring out the value of the natural, cultural and craft resources of this mountain area through cooperative work.
The cooperative is born
Le Cinque Icone is formally established as a Community Cooperative. The founding members launch the first activities: the apiary and the traditional weaving workshop come to life.
Growth and new activities
The apiary expands. Blueberries and other small fruits start being grown in the fields of the Presila. The first guided tourism experiences begin: hikes, workshops and nature trails.
Going digital
The cooperative begins its digital journey: an online shop, a presence on social media and participation in regional and national fairs to make the brand known.
Consolidation
The network of partners and collaborators grows. New members join the project. Activities become established and the cooperative strengthens its presence in the area.
New horizons
We keep growing, building networks with other local organisations and developing new products and services for the local community and for visitors to the Presila.

We operate in Pentone and the neighbouring villages of the Presila, a mountainous area in the province of Catanzaro known for its forests, pastures and an authentic, little-known cultural heritage.
